Aesthetic and Creative Domain: Art
Topic: Crystalline Snowflakes – painting on salt
Resources: pictures of the snowflakes’ patterns observed by children on the smart board, snowflakes patterns made of carton, salt, painting colors, liquid glue.
The description of the activity:
1. Print the snowflake pattern on carton;
2. Apply glue on the snowflake’s outline then turn the carton upside down and put it on a surface with salt. Press gently but everywhere is glue;
3. Take it apart and let the glue and salt dry.
4. Take a paintbrush, put it in water, color and touch the salt on the carton with it. What do you think will happen? Discover yourself!
5. This is what we call absorption.
