At the end of May, children from Vrtec Hrastnik enthusiastically visited Znanstival, the well-known Slovenian science festival that fills the streets of Ljubljana with experiments, workshops, and fascinating scientific demonstrations.
Children explored physics, chemistry, biology, and technology through hands-on activities and play. They discovered how catapults work, what creates a vacuum, why magnets attract certain objects, and how air and water can generate movement. Some even took on the role of little scientists by guiding simple experiments themselves.
Znanstival brought science to life in a fun and accessible way. The experience sparked curiosity, encouraged questions, and provided opportunities to interact with peers and real scientists – deepening the children’s understanding of natural phenomena.
Events like this support our STEAM approach by helping children gain knowledge in authentic, real-world contexts where learning is active, joyful, and meaningful.
